Elderberry Syrup Kit

Regular price $20.00 Sale

I am super excited to offer these kits!  Elderberry syrup will help boost your immune system!  Elderberries are high in vitamins A and C, are anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory. They are also an immunostimulant and high in flavanoids. Calendula is an immune stimulant, antibacterial, and antiviral. It acts an an antimicrobial which helps the body fight against pathogens.  Rose hips are known as being high in vitamin C as well as vitamin A.  Oranges are another fruit that are also known for it’s high vitamin C content.  Ginger is an anti-inflammatory and stimulates circulation. It is also an antiviral and helps stimulate macrophage activity which helps prevent viruses from attaching to the cell walls.  Cloves are anti-inflammatory. Clove can help our bodies deal with this issue because of the high amounts of eugenol. When our inflammation is out of control, chronic illness and disease set in. Eugenol is also antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral.  Cloves boost immune function. Cloves are nutrient-dense with a ton of antioxidant properties (antioxidants protect our cells from damage and prevent things like chronic disease and illnesses)! Cinnamon bark is used to help with infections caused by bacteria and parasitic worms; and for menstrual cramps, the common cold, and the flu.

*No claims are being made.  I suggest you do your own research on ingredients.  What is posted is what I have researched and just passing along information.

These kits are easy to make!   Dump the bag in a large pot, add 4 cups of water (preferably distilled or filtered), simmer about 30 minutes, strain, let cool and add sweetener of choice.  Store in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 months.
*You may also place strained herbs back in your pot, add 4 more cups of water, bring to a boil, let cool, cover and place in the refrigerator for 8 hours or overnight and repeat steps of straining and adding sweetener or freeze without sweetener until ready to use, then add your sweetener.  When I did this, I got a total of 5 cups of juice.
Dosing Directions:  Adults take one tablespoon daily.  Children take 1 teaspoon daily.  *If using honey as a sweetener, do not give to children under 1 year of age.  If you are feeling sick or have the flu, increase dosage to 1 tablespoon every 3-4 hours up to 6 times per day for adults.  (for children over one use 1 teaspoon).

*For sore throat treatment, use recommended daily dose as needed, not to exceed 6 times a day.

Why not exceed 6 times a day? Among the many benefits, elderberries are also a mild diuretic, and may cause unintended side effects if taken.

Yield: If you use kit once, approximately 2 cups of juice and after adding sweetener of choice and depending on amount, approximately 3 to 4 cups of syrup.  If you run the herbs for a second time, approximately 4 cups of juice, after adding sweetener of choice and depending upon amount of sweetener used, yield will be approximately 7 to 8 cups of syrup.

Ingredients: Elderberries, Organic Calendula, Orange Peel Granules, Cinnamon Sticks, Organic Rosehips, Organic Ginger Root, Organic Cloves.

Min Wt 5.25 oz
